The Center For Global Engagement's English Language Institute will raise funds to provide scholarships for students learning English as a second language.
The Center for Global Engagement’s English Language Institute (ELI) provides a key service to the University of Tennessee and the greater community. This year, the English Language Institute is providing scholarship funds for students who call Tennessee home.
Graduate student Valeria Campos (Chile) said, "ELI is the best part of my day." For Malalai Anwari (Afghanistan), ELI provided a sense of normalcy and a return to a life in academia that was left behind when fleeing hostility in her home country and relocating to Knoxville. These are just two examples of the thousands of students who have studied at ELI in its rich 45-year history.
ELI’s scholarship funds provide students with the opportunity to improve their English skills in order to access higher education opportunities or enhance their professional skills. Through our in-person and online classes, students learn critical skills for the academic environment and the workforce. These students give back to the local community to the tune of $42.8 million annually (Tennessee’s 2nd Congressional District). Learn more about ELI's programs at eli.utk.edu.
Your contribution to the scholarship fund will go directly to providing up to 50 students with a 20% discount on classes in 2025.
Give today and change a life forever.
