Manthan Indian Student Organization

Manthan, the Indian Student Organization at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, is raising funds to celebrate Indian festivals on campus and share Indian culture with the UT community. The goal is to bring the traditions, colors, and spirit of India to Knoxville through events that are open and welcoming to all students.

Throughout the year, Manthan hosts celebrations such as Diwali, Holi, Navratri, Eid, and Dussehra. These events include traditional food, music, dance performances, and decorations that create an authentic cultural experience. They give students the chance to learn about Indian culture while also bringing people together in a fun and meaningful way.

For Indian students, these festivals are an important connection to home. Manthan creates a space where they can celebrate their traditions, feel a sense of belonging, and build community while being far from their families. At the same time, these events allow other students to experience new cultures and build cross-cultural relationships.

Funds from VOLstarter will go toward event costs such as food, decorations, supplies, and overall logistics to ensure these celebrations can happen at a high level.

By supporting Manthan, donors are helping create a more inclusive, connected, and culturally aware campus at UT.
