The Big Orange Pantry is a campus-wide resource that provides students, faculty, and staff a variety of non-perishable and fresh foods, hygiene products, and other essential items supporting basic needs. A campus-wide assessment conducted in Spring 2023 revealed that 1 in 3 UTK students experienced some degree of food insecurity, making resources like the Big Orange Pantry key to supporting students, faculty, and staff on campus
Last academic year, the Big Orange Pantry supported more than 40,000 shopping visits to its location in the Student Union and its satellite locations across campus. Supporting the Big Orange Pantry Fund ensures that our shelves are well-stocked so that students, faculty, and staff can have their essentials met to be successful members of the Volunteer community.
