In times of disaster and emergency, Vols help Vols! Big Orange Pantry is a campus-wide initiative that provides students, faculty, and staff with short-term meal assistance. With the recent flooding, members of the UT community have been affected and the Pantry is here to help. This initiative started in fall of 2020 and supports members of the UT community in times of need.
Studies show that students who are food-secure tend to perform better than those who identify as food-insecure. One in three students in the Appalachian area are food insecure, which is higher than the national average.
With that, the Office of the Dean of Students wishes for all Vols to be successful and have access to basic necessities, like food.
Your gift to the Big Orange Pantry Fund will go directly to the purchase of food and other basic needs for the Big Orange Pantry. Clients order items via an online ordering form and pick-up during weekly hours or private appointments.
UT Knoxville faculty and staff can set up a payroll deduction in support of this fund.
